sufficiently high grades in all areas of the audition process will be
invited to attend the Assisted Place Audition. As these Assisted Places
are limited they are rigorously means tested and only a small number are
awarded annually.
Equal
Opportunities/Disability Statement:
The Centre selects
students without regard to race, ethnic origin, gender or sexual
orientation. Age and disability are disregarded providing prospective
students, having successfully auditioned, can demonstrate their capability to complete a physically
demanding three year dance training course or two/three year Dance Teacher
Training Course. The Centre will endeavour to
accommodate any student provided the employment opportunities are
relevant to the individual concerned.
The Centre realises that any student who has a disability or learning
difficulty may need special consideration or additional support in order
to succeed within the course. We recognise these needs are individual and
we aim to ensure all students have the required support.
The Centre employs an academic tutor with Special Educational Needs
training to assist class tutors with the delivery of academic units of the
F.D.I. and C.D.E. qualifications. The Special Educational Needs tutor will liaise with staff and
parents if individual training programmes are required. However
prospective students and their parents/guardians should note The Centre
does not have a designated unit dealing with Special Educational Needs.
It may be the case that an individual would endanger his/her personal
safety or that of other members of the class and so should be precluded
from undertaking the course or particular activity on the grounds of
health and safety.
