Professional Development Programme

The Professional Development Programme is exclusively for graduates of The Centre who wish to further their ISTD teaching qualifications. We are one of the few establishments to offer this facility to graduate students.

The Programme is under the personal direction of Miss Karen King FISTD, ARAD. Cert. Ed. a  former Modern Theatre Faculty committee member and examiner for the Modern Theatre and Tap Dance Faculties of the ISTD. Miss King has many years teaching at vocational level entering candidates for examinations up to and including Fellowship status. Miss King has been involved with the training of teachers and examiners for the ISTD and has regularly lectured at headquarters and Chichester Summer School, as well as at teachers groups throughout the country. She was also jointly responsible for the creation of the boy's Intermediate Modern syllabus and grades 4, 5 & 6 modern syllabi.

The Course offers graduates the opportunity to complete Foundation in Dance Instruction and Certificate in Dance Education and gain Licentiate and Fellowship examinations in Ballet, Modern and Tap genres. All courses commence in September and run throughout the academic year.

The Faculty coaching Status Examinations includes ISTD Committee Members and Examiners who still play an active role in creating syllabi and lecturing for the ISTD.
