Chris Huntley B Mus. (Hons)

Chris is a graduate of Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music And Dance, he is a well-established pianist and musical director in UK theatre, whose expertise spans many music genres. He MD’s and vocal coaches at Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London School of Musical Theatre, and Mary Ward College where he is Musical Director of the Mary Ward Centre Players. Chris is currently Musical Supervisor and Orchestrator for the new musical productions of Orton, Day After Day, Song Queen and Musical Director for the Nonsuch History and Dance Company, whose work has recently featured on the BBC’s Home Fires. Regional credits include: Musical Director for The Family Hoffman’s Christmas Mystery Palace (MAC Theatre, Belfast) Musical Supervisor for ‘Til The Boys Come Home (Sydenham Arts Festival); Musical Director for Orton (ATS Theatre); Stepping Out (National Gallery); Cinderella (Marina Theatre), When Midnight Strikes’ (Marlowe Studio, Canterbury) Days Full Of Promise (St James Theatre), The Road To Qatar (Edinburgh Fringe), The Wedding Singer (Stanwix Theatre), Rapunzel And The Rascal Prince (Theatre Royal, Bury St Edmunds), Terry Prachett’s Mort (Rose Theatre, Kingston), The Dummy Tree (Tristan BatesTheatre), The Witches Of Eastwick (Kenneth More Theatre), Kiss Me Kate (Bob Hope Theatre) and as Assistant Musical Director The Route To Happiness (Landor Theatre). He has also worked in New York as Associate Musical Director on Grant Olding’s awarding winning Three Sides The Musical (45th Street Theater) with further international credits including Assistant Conductor and Chorus Master for Carmen, Savitri and La Boheme’ (Thailand Cultural Centre, Bangkok), Musical Director for Butterfly (Al Bida, Kuwait ); La Boheme South Asia Tour and ‘P&O Cruises’ (MVs Artemis and Arcadia). As a soloist Chris has performed with the Siam Philharmonic Orchestra, Bangkok and on London’s Southbank performing Prokofiev’s 2nd piano concerto in the conversational concert series.
Other industry credits include: Score Editor for the musicals Once Upon A Time At The Adelphi and Out There published by Samuel French and Wienberger respectively, Copyist and Associate MD for James Bourne and Elliot Davis shows Out There (Riverside Studios) and Loserville (West Yorkshire Playhouse) and for the What’s On Stage nominated revival of Fings Ain’t Wot They Used T’Be by Lionel Bart (Union Theatre).
